🔒 Short version: ClipMind does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Your API key stays on your device only. We have no servers.

1. What Data We Collect

Nothing. ClipMind has no servers, no databases, and no backend infrastructure that collects user data of any kind.

2. Your Groq API Key

ClipMind requires a Groq API key to generate AI summaries. This key is:

Stored only on your local device using Chrome's built-in storage (chrome.storage.local)
Never transmitted to ClipMind or any third party
Sent only to Groq's API (api.groq.com) when you request a summary — this is required to generate the summary

3. YouTube Transcripts

When you request a summary, ClipMind fetches the video transcript from YouTube's public API. This transcript is sent to Groq's API to generate the summary. We do not store transcripts anywhere.

4. Local Usage Data

ClipMind stores your daily summary count (e.g., "3/10 free today") locally on your device only. This data never leaves your browser.

5. Third-Party Services

ClipMind uses Groq API (api.groq.com) to generate AI summaries. When you use ClipMind, your video transcript is sent to Groq for processing. Please review Groq's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle data.

6. No Tracking or Analytics

❌ No user accounts required
❌ No data sold to third parties — ever

7. Children's Privacy

ClipMind does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The extension is intended for general audiences.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we update this privacy policy, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of ClipMind after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
